Melted Crayon DIY and Holton Rower

So, in my fashion design class at school, we are designing gowns. I was inspired by this video of the "Tall Painting" by Holton Rower. He is officially my most recent favorite artist. It's absolutely amazing. I'd love to try it, but I'd need a LOT of time, patience, and PAINT!

Anyway, so that's what I was inspired by. So I showed my original sketch and a picture of one of Rower's finished pieces to my teacher and she was like "Why don't you melt wax or Crayons onto matt board for your finished piece?" and I agreed that it would be a really cool idea.

So now, after tons of research and asking art teachers at school, I finally figured out how to do it. I shaved bits of colorful Crayons onto my piece, covered it with wax paper, and put the iron over it. This is the finished result:

You like?? Taken with my Canon Power Shot SD1200 IS. I figured out how to put it on these crazy settings that let me take pictures with intense detail. Prince William and Princess Kate

Did you get up at, say, 4 am to watch? Well, I had every intention of doing so. But I was so pooped from all this studying (finals, hello!) to get up. So I saw her walk out of the church while I was brushing my teeth. And that dress??!! Simply to die for. The only thing that bothered me was that awkward 'V' neck thing? But it wasn't terrible. It was so simple, and she looked beautiful. And let's not forget our cute but now taken Prince William...very handsome in his military get up. Very nice. LAST BUT NEVER LEAST, Prince Harry...oh, I certainly do like this man very much. He's just so...cool (for lack of a more substantial word)!

But what really bothered me was that today at school, people were talking about the wedding, which was fine. But these people had no idea what they were talking about. I mean, they were like "oh, did you hear about the wedding?" "what wedding?" "you know, the one with the British people". It was rather irksome (?) I also couldn't stand how some people refused to pay any attention to it because it was happening in England and we don't have royalty. People are so uncultured.

All of the art teachers at school wore fancy shmancy hats stolen from the school's costume vault for the occasion. That was very cute. Especially my fashion teac

ding itself was $450,000? I could be wrong or I could've heard wrong, but that's what I thought they said on the radio earlier this week. Also, it was designed by Alexander McQueen, of course (my fashion designer idol). I practically peed myself when I found that out. My friend, Jordan, and I were freaking. We must've been a sight to be seen!

i wish so much that i could've been at the Coachella festival over yonder on the west coast. but i guess it's an east coast vs west coast sort of thing. that, and i have no car/license/friends interested in it. well, i mean, there's one friend...but she's seeing Lady GaGa live in the near future and i am very jealous. and i'm seeing Panic! At The Disco with her in May. but that's beside the point.

ANYWAYS, i have no idea who i'm talking to right now. it's like an empty expanse of cyber blogging in which no one knows who Nikki (me) is...or who the Shoe Whore is. it's rather depressing, actually.

sorry about the brief interruption...my computer crashed and we finally got a new one. i also got my own apple macbook for my 16th birthday, which was a few weeks ago.

anyway, finals sucked. my camera's back working. and i'm back blogging. too bad i've been to lazy to have any outfit posts because of the thought "oh, i don't have a computer. so why waste time taking pictures of my outfits?" but now i have no excuse. i can't let myself get distracted. i CAN'T!

why can't long colorful skirts and saddle shoes and poodle skirts and fun 70s retro stuff be in again? is it because our generation is full of sluts who can't wait to show off their belly button rings? i mean, seriously. it's ridiculous. this girl came into my math class today wearing one that probably went up to an inch and a half above her belly button. i really don't need to be seeing that, especially while doing my logic proofs.
i'm more into long shirts, crazy layering, blah blah. ya know what i mean?

today at school, i saw some CRAZY costumes (tacos, telly tubbies, fruit)

too bad halloween is in two days and i have no idea what i'm being...seriously contemplating going to the party store and buying a Lady GaGa wig... o_O too bad everything i wear is pretty modest and i own nothing by McQueen...it'd be perfect! i'll just have to figure something out...at this rate, i'll be sitting at home with friends handing out candy to little trick-or-treaters!

i feel absolutely terrible that i've completely abandoned my blog (again.)...and i would make an outfit post, BUT MY MEMORY CARD BROKE...AGAIN. my patience for technology is growing quite thin. you know that little switch on the SD card that says "lock"? well, it fell off...o_O
i've been looking up ways to get it to work, and i tried the tape trick...and it won't fit into my computer. so now i have to find time in my uber busy schedule to go to the drug store and somehow get my pictures onto a CD and put that onto my computer and YEAH. life is wayyyy too complicated. it's ridiculous.
i've had no time for anything lately (school, homework, sleep *repeat*)...high school sucks...
just sayin'.
